Are minors required to have separate applications, or can they be included in a parent’s entry permission ?
Yes. Minors are required to apply for their own individual Indonesia e-VOA and cannot be included under a parent’s or guardian’s entry permission. Indonesia’s immigration system does not offer family or group visas for e-VOA purposes. As a result, every traveler entering Indonesia—regardless of age—must hold a separate, approved e-VOA, each with its own unique QR code and individual payment.
For children and minors, the e-VOA application is submitted on their behalf by a parent or legal guardian. While the applicant is a minor, the visa itself is still processed as an individual application using the child’s personal passport details. This includes providing the child’s passport information, digital photograph, and basic travel details such as arrival date and port of entry.
During arrival in Indonesia, immigration officers will verify and scan the e-VOA QR code for each family member separately, including infants and young children. Entry clearance is granted individually, not as a family unit. It is therefore important that parents ensure all children have their own approved e-VOA prior to travel.
Please note that even newborns are required to obtain a separate e-VOA, provided they hold an individual passport and are traveling to Indonesia. Preparing all family members’ documents in advance—such as passports and photos—can help make the process smoother when submitting multiple individual applications for a family trip.
