Can I apply ’s e-VOA if transiting through multiple Indonesian airports before exiting the country?
Yes, you may use an Indonesian e-VOA if your travel plan involves entering Indonesia first and then flying through multiple domestic airports before leaving the country.
It is important to understand that the Indonesian e-VOA is an entry visa, not a transit (airside) visa. This means the e-VOA is applicable only when you pass through immigration and officially enter Indonesia. Once your e-VOA is successfully used for entry, you are legally permitted to stay in Indonesia and travel freely within the country, including taking domestic flights between different cities and airports.
The e-VOA grants an initial stay of up to 30 days and may be extended once for an additional 30 days, subject to Indonesian immigration regulations. Your e-VOA will be activated at your first international point of entry, such as Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, or another designated international airport. At this location, immigration officers will verify your passport and scan the QR code associated with your e-VOA.
After completing immigration clearance, you are free to continue your journey within Indonesia, including transiting through multiple domestic airports, until your final departure from the country. For smooth travel, we recommend keeping a digital or printed copy of your e-VOA readily available, as it may be requested during airline check-in procedures or domestic security checks.
This flexibility makes the e-VOA a suitable option for travelers planning multi-city itineraries within Indonesia, provided all travel occurs within the visa’s permitted validity period.
