How to go Pattaya from Malaysia?

To travel from Malaysia to Pattaya, Thailand, you have some options depending on your preferences for cost, convenience, and time. Here are several options:

  • Flying: The quickest way to reach Pattaya is by flying. You can take a flight from major Malaysian airports such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or Penang International Airport to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. From there, you can catch a bus to Pattaya. Alternatively, you can fly into Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok or even directly to U-Tapao Airport, which is closer to Pattaya.
  • Train and Bus: If you want to save money, trains and bus are a great choice.  You can take a train from Kuala Lumpur to the border town of Padang Besar, then transfer to a Thai train to Hat Yai. From Hat Yai, you can continue by train to Bangkok’s Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal. Once in Bangkok, a bus will take you to Pattaya.
  • Driving: If you’re up for a road trip, you can drive from Kuala Lumpur to Pattaya. The driving distance between Malaysia to Pattaya is 1599 km.  It takes about 20h 35m to drive from Malaysia to Pattaya.
  • Bus: There is no direct bus from Malaysia to Pattaya. There are, however, services departing that leave from Kl1821 Pasar Seni and travel via Hentian Duta, Kim Yong Market, Hat Yai Bus Terminal, Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok, and Ekkamai Bus Terminal to get to South Pattaya. Including transfers, the trip takes about 30 hours and 26 minutes.
