Can someone else apply for my Uzbekistan visa extension on my behalf?
Yes, an authorized legal representative (which may include a relative, employer, or lawyer) can submit your visa extension application on your behalf, but in practice, the representative is usually required to be an Uzbek citizen or a locally authorized legal representative, depending on the migration office handling the case. This option provides flexibility if you're unable to complete the application yourself due to illness, work commitments, or other circumstances.
Mandatory requirement for representative applications:
The representative must provide a notarized power of attorney specifically authorizing them to act on your behalf for the visa extension. This legal document must be properly notarized according to Uzbek law and attached to the online application along with your passport copy and supporting documents.
The representative will log into the my.gov.uz portal, navigate to the "Citizenship" section for visa extensions, and complete the electronic form with your passport details, current visa information, and extension justification. They'll upload all required documents including the notarized power of attorney, your passport copy, and relevant supporting documentation.
After the 15-working-day review period, if approved, the representative receives the state fee payment notification. However, you (the visa holder) must personally submit your physical passport to the local migration office within the timeframe specified by the migration office, after which the passport is returned with the extension recorded (either by sticker or electronic registration, depending on local practice).
