Travel for Pakistani nationals to India remains possible in 2025 but is highly restricted. Pakistani citizens cannot obtain tourist visas for leisure travel. However, Visit Visas (for visiting close family members), business visas, medical visas, and certain other specific-purpose visas are still issued under strict security regulations.
Previously and still today, Pakistani nationals applying for a Visit Visa must demonstrate a legitimate reason (such as visiting blood relatives) and provide supporting documents, including a sponsorship certificate from family in India. Travel under such visas is typically limited to a maximum of five specific cities listed in the visa.
Although travel remains tightly regulated, India has not suspended all visa services for Pakistani citizens. The Attari–Wagah land border crossing is open for those with valid visas, although travelers must comply with thorough security checks and potential delays.
Due to evolving political relations and security considerations, Pakistani citizens planning to visit India should always consult official government sources or the Indian High Commission for the latest visa policies and requirements.
