What is the minimum passport validity required for Bahrain e-visa?

When applying for a Bahrain e-visa, one of the most important eligibility requirements is the validity of your passport. In general, your passport should be valid for at least six months from your intended date of entry into Bahrain. This is a common international travel standard and is typically applied by Bahraini immigration authorities to ensure travelers remain legally documented throughout their stay.

In addition to the minimum validity period, applicants are advised to ensure their passport meets the following general conditions:

  • A validity of at least six months beyond the planned entry date
  • Sufficient blank pages available for immigration entry stamps
  • The passport is in good physical condition, without significant damage such as torn pages, water damage, or unreadable information
  • A machine-readable passport (MRP), which applies to most modern passports

If your passport is due to expire within six months of your intended travel date, it is strongly recommended to renew it before submitting your Bahrain e-visa application. Applications lodged with passports that do not meet the validity requirement may be refused or require resubmission after a new passport is issued, which could lead to additional processing time and extra fees.

Applicants should also ensure that all biographical details on the passport—such as full name, passport number, and date of birth—are clearly legible and entered accurately in the e-visa application form. Any mismatch or unclear information may result in delays during processing or complications upon arrival at the Bahraini port of entry.
